Lavarwave announced on the 9th that it received the 2025 Information Security Merit Group Commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT at the “14th Information Security Day” ceremony held at the Grand Ballroom of Seoul Dragon City Hotel.

The Information Security Merit Award is presented to individuals and organizations that have contributed to the advancement of information security, including cyber incident prevention and response, protection of major information infrastructure, development of security technologies and workforce, and strengthening the overall security environment. At this year’s ceremony, a total of 24 commendations were awarded, including 21 individuals and 3 organizations.

Lavarwave received the group commendation, which was granted to only three organizations or companies, in recognition of its contributions to preventing digital crimes such as sextortion and deepfakes and protecting victims. The company was highly recognized for developing and operating its AI-based real-time illegal content detection solution LAVAR SCANNER and its proprietary integrated solution to prevent the distribution of sextortion videos, helping protect sensitive and personal information from digital crime damage.

Additionally, in March, Lavarwave became the first company in the industry to be officially listed on the Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system (DART), certifying its operational transparency and reliability. Ongoing social responsibility activities, including prevention campaigns and free support programs for vulnerable groups such as minors, also contributed positively to the award.

CEO Kim Jun-yeop said, “Lavarwave has continuously worked with a strong sense of mission to protect citizens’ personal and sensitive information from rapidly evolving digital crimes such as sextortion and deepfakes. We accept this award as both a responsibility and encouragement to build a safer Korea and will continue to strengthen our response and fulfill our social responsibilities.”
